WhatsApp Business Calling: Ring WhatsApp Calls on Your Phone System
Let customers call your WhatsApp Business number and ring your RingQ extension, call queue or IVR, with transfer, call recording and call logs.

Your customers already use WhatsApp every day. With WhatsApp Business calling in RingQ, they can tap the call button on your WhatsApp Business number and the call rings your business phone system: an extension, a call queue or an IVR. Your team answers on the RingQ web app, the mobile app or a desk phone, just like any other call.
Why connect WhatsApp calls to your PBX?
On a single phone, WhatsApp calls are hard to share, record or report on. When WhatsApp calling is part of your cloud PBX, every WhatsApp call gets the same tools as a normal phone call:
- Call queues and IVR: route WhatsApp calls to the right team, with business hours and overflow.
- Transfer: pass a WhatsApp caller to a colleague with a blind or attended transfer.
- Call recording and call logs: keep a record for quality and compliance.
- Any device: answer on iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac, the browser or a desk phone.
- One inbox for chat too: WhatsApp messages land in the same RingQ digital channels inbox as SMS, Telegram, Facebook Messenger and website chat.
How WhatsApp Business calling works with RingQ
RingQ connects to the WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API) from Meta. Setup takes a few minutes in the RingQ web app:
- Make sure your number is on the WhatsApp Business Platform with Calling turned on. Numbers used in the regular WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app need to be moved to the platform first.
- In RingQ, open Integrations, choose WhatsApp and paste your Meta access token, app secret and phone number ID.
- Pick where WhatsApp calls should ring: an extension, a queue or an IVR.
- Click Configure gateway. RingQ sets up the connection to Meta and the inbound route for you, then shows when it is connected.
The full steps are in the WhatsApp voice calls guide.
Telegram calls work the same way
RingQ also connects Telegram voice calls to your PBX, so Telegram calls ring your extensions, queues and IVRs with the same transfer, recording and call logs. See Telegram voice calls with RingQ.
Who uses WhatsApp calling on a PBX?
- Customer support teams that want WhatsApp callers in the same queue as phone callers.
- Sales teams in markets where customers prefer WhatsApp over a phone number.
- Hotels, clinics and retailers that publish a WhatsApp number on their website and social media.
- International businesses whose customers want to call for free over the internet.
