RingQ 9.1 – Faster, Lighter Container-Based Installation

The new RingQ 9.1 installation experience replaces the traditional monolithic ISO deployment with a lightweight Docker-based approach, significantly reducing installation time while simplifying future upgrades and maintenance.

Why We Changed

Traditional ISO deployments bundled all packages into a single installation image and downloaded additional components during setup. While reliable, this process typically required 45–50 minutes, particularly on slower networks or lower-spec hardware.

What's New in RingQ 9.1

  • Container-based deployment using Docker.
  • Typical installation time reduced to around 17 minutes (hardware dependent).
  • Faster updates by replacing or updating containers instead of reinstalling the platform.
  • Cleaner deployment architecture with improved maintainability.
  • Foundation for future platform enhancements.

Industry Perspective

Modern communications platforms increasingly use containerized deployments to simplify installation and maintenance. Typical deployment times in the industry are generally around 5–20 minutes depending on hardware, storage performance, and network conditions. RingQ now aligns with these modern deployment expectations while providing a lightweight installation experience.
