STEP-BY-STEP PROCEDURE FOR
RESHUFFLING AN FQDN
Customer Access Portal (CAP) — License Management Guide
Overview
This guide explains how to reshuffle (reassign) an FQDN license in the RingQ Customer Access Portal (CAP). Reshuffling moves all assignment data — company name, FQDN, and branding — from one license key to a different unused key in your account, freeing up the original key. This is useful when reorganising licenses across accounts or replacing an expired key without losing configuration data.
⚠ NOTE | The target license key must be unused, inactive, and belong to the same category (e.g. Multi-Tenant). Once reshuffled, the original license is freed and this action cannot be undone. |
Step 1 — Log In and Navigate to the License Page
Go to cap.ringq.com and sign in. Click Licenses in the sidebar to open the License Management page.
Step 2 — Access the Advanced License URL
In the address bar, change the URL to cap.ringq.com/license/index2 and press Enter to access the advanced license management view.
Step 3 — Copy the License Key and Open Reshuffle License
Locate the unregistered FQDN you want to reshuffle. Click Security Details on that row and copy the license key. Then click the Reshuffle License icon and select Reshuffle License from the License Actions dialog.

Step 4 — Enter the Target Key and Confirm
In the Reshuffle License dialog, paste the copied license key into the Target License Key field. Type CONFIRM in the confirmation field and click Reshuffle License. A "Done! License reshuffled" confirmation will appear on success.

Step 5 — Retrieve the Freed License Key
After the reshuffle, click Security Details on the freed license row. If prompted with an FQDN Setup Incomplete warning, click Proceed Anyway. Copy the license key displayed in the Security Details panel.

Step 6 — Create a New FQDN in the CAP Portal
Click the Multi-Tenant icon to open the new FQDN registration form. Fill in the organisation details and enter your desired subdomain under Domain Name. Click Submit — a "Successfully setup the account" confirmation will appear.

Step 7 — Copy the New License Key
Locate the newly created FQDN in the license list. Click Security Details and copy the license key — you will need this to activate the server.

Step 8 — Activate the License on the New Server
On the new server, open a browser and navigate to http://<server-ip>/license. Paste the license key into the License Key field. Once verified, click Continue Activate and wait 2–3 minutes for provisioning to complete.
