Twilio SMS Setup in RingQ

Connect a Twilio number to RingQ to send and receive SMS in RingQ Chat.

Before you start

  • A Twilio account with an SMS-capable phone number.
  • Your Account SID and Auth token (Twilio console home page).

Add the number in RingQ

  1. Sign in to the RingQ web app as an admin.
  2. Go to Global Settings › Chat Settings.
  3. In the provider list, choose SMS numbers (all providers) and click Add SMS number.
  4. Pick Twilio.
  5. Enter a short Name and the Phone number with country code.
  6. Enter your Account SID and Auth token.
  7. Click Save, then copy the Webhook URL for your provider.

Connect Twilio to RingQ

  1. In the Twilio console, open Phone Numbers and click your number.
  2. Under Messaging, find A message comes in.
  3. Choose Webhook, paste the RingQ webhook address, set HTTP POST and save.

RingQ checks Twilio's signature on every incoming message, so only real Twilio messages are accepted.

Test it

  2. Reply from your mobile. A new chat opens in RingQ Chat.
  3. To route the number to a queue, pick it under SMS in Call Flow or in the queue settings.
