Deploying RingQ on Microsoft Azure

 

Introduction


This guide will take you through the steps of setting up RingQ in your own Microsoft Azure server and running it in your own cloud environment. Whether you’re a system administrator or service provider, this easy-to-follow guide will enable you to deploy RingQ reliably and efficiently on Azure’s infrastructure and allow you to keep full control of your instance and its data.

Deploying from Microsoft Azure


1. Navigate here and log in with your Azure credentials. If you don’t already have an account, you will need to create one.

2. Click on “Get in now”, and in the window that appears, select RingQ as the Plan, then press Get in now again.

3. Select the Subscription under which you want to install RingQ, then press Create.

4. In the Virtual Machine Creation Form:

  • Select the Resource Group in which you want to create your RingQ Virtual Machine
  • Set the Virtual machine name.
  • Select the Region where your RingQ VM will be installed. This is usually one that is closest to you.
  • Select a VM Size.
For most installations, a Size with 2vCPUs / 4GB RAM, like B2s will suffice, but for larger installations, choose 4 vCPUs / 8GB RAM or higher, like B4ms or F4s_v2.
  • Set the Authentication type that you prefer, SSH public key or Password.
Important! Make sure you save the Key File that is downloaded, otherwise you may not be able to access your RingQ terminal if required.
  • Press Review + create.

5. Review your configuration options and press Create.

6. Once the deployment is complete, press Go to resource to take you to your RingQ VM settings.

7. Go to Networking > Network settings, and here select Create port rule > Inbound port rule.Add Azure inbound security key for RingQ
8. In the form set:

  • Source: Any
  • Source port ranges: *
  • Destination: Any
  • Service: Custom
  • Destination port ranges: 16384-32768
  • Protocol: UDP
  • Action: Allow
  • Priority: leave the preset value
  • Name: RTP-Ports

9. Press Add.

9. While still in Networking > Network settings, copy the Public IP address.

10. Open a new tab in your browser and go to https://[Public IP Address]:8443/license

11. Enter your RingQ License Key and press Activate.

12. Once the License Activation finishes, your RingQ installation is complete and you can access your instance!
